THE ASEAN WAY DAN KOMUNITAS KAWASAN 2015: ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN PARADIGMA

Abstract

The prospect of the ASEAN Community, whose establishement has been accelerated from 2010 to 2015, has been more often questioned due to its lack of progress until recently. It is necessary, therefore, to analyse the progress from vartous secforq such as politics, security, economy, social, and culture,by applying different perspectives, namely, constructivism, which seems not only pessimistic but also empirical. This paper explains the devetopment of ASEAN since its formation until it sels and realiazes its target to form a regional community. An important question raised in this paper is that whether ASEAN still looks as talk shops or it has been transforming it sett towards a regional cammunity, which can accomplish its mission within less than three years. ASEAN's capability to respond and find solutions to the problems confronted by its member countries has been used as a parameter to evaluate 'the ASEAN Way' and the progress that has been achieved by the regional organization in its roadmap towards a regional community.
