DPR RI DAN ISU PALESTINA DIPLOMASI ANTAR PARLEME

Abstract

Unfinished solution on Palestine issue draws international  community's attention,  as well as many in Indonesia, not only from  inside the government  but  also from  the parliament.  DPR's great  interest  on the  Palestine issue is reflected on its efforts in conducting parliamentary  diplomacy by developing communication  and interactions  with Members of Parliament of friendly  countries in order to support the struggle of the Palestinian people for  gaining independence. In this perspective,  DPR  diplomacy on the Palestine issue must be seen as an alternative  to the existing formal  diplomacy, the track one, which dominantly introduced by the Indonesian government. Importantly argued here that both sorts of diplomacy conducted by the government and parliament,  as part of state actors and multitrack  diplomacy, can actually  create sinergy to achive optimum  results in international  fora for  the sake of Palestinian independence. This essay focuses its analysis on DPR multitrack  diplomacy on Palestine issue in various international fora.
