Perundungan Dunia Maya pada Anak: Tinjauan Fenomena dan Tren dalam Rentang 2016–2020
Abstract
Cyberbullying has become a worrying phenomenon, especially among children. Increased use of the internet and social media among children may increase their risk of experiencing cyberbullying. In this study, the author raises the issue of the phenomenon of cyberbullying, its impact and prevention efforts on children. The purpose of this research is to provide education and preventive measures to protect children from cyberbullying. In this study, the authors used the library research method using secondary data obtained from KPAI, UNICEF, and other research published in the form of articles, journals or other references. The stages of the research started from selecting the topic, formulating the problem, analyzing it, and compiling the report. The results of this study indicate that cyberbullying is rife, especially on social media with children who are victims and perpetrators. This phenomenon has an impact physically, psychologically, and academically. The impact of cyberbullying is more harmful than traditional bullying because cyberbullying leaves a digital footprint that can be seen by everyone regardless of physical distance. Therefore, as a form of protection for children, efforts to prevent cyberbullying are necessary. Families and communities can provide education to children in using social media. In addition, the role of the legislature (DPR RI) is needed in providing adequate regulations, because regulations related to cyberbullying and its legal consequences have not been clearly regulated in the information and electronic transaction law or child protection law.
Abstrak
Perundungan dunia maya telah menjadi fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan, terutama di kalangan anak-anak. Meningkatnya penggunaan internet dan media sosial di kalangan anak-anak dapat meningkatkan risiko mengalami perundungan dunia maya. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis mengangkat masalah fenomena perundungan dunia maya, dampak, dan upaya pencegahannya pada anak. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini memberikan edukasi dan upaya preventif untuk melindungi anak dari perundungan dunia maya. Pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari KPAI, UNICEF, serta penelitian lain yang dipublikasikan dalam bentuk artikel, jurnal, atau referensi lainnya. Tahapan penelitian dimulai dari pemilihan topik, perumusan masalah, analisis, dan penyusunan laporan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perundungan dunia maya marak terjadi terutama di media sosial dengan anak yang menjadi korban maupun pelakunya. Fenomena tersebut berdampak secara fisik, psikis, maupun akademik. Dampak perundungan dunia maya lebih berbahaya daripada perundungan tradisional karena perundungan dunia maya meninggalkan jejak digital yang dapat dilihat oleh semua orang tanpa dibatasi oleh jarak fisik. Oleh karena itu, sebagai bentuk perlindungan terhadap anak, perlu dilakukan upaya pencegahan perundungan dunia maya. Keluarga dan masyarakat dapat memberikan edukasi kepada anak dalam penggunaan media sosial. Selain itu, diperlukan peran lembaga legislatif (DPR RI) dalam menyediakan regulasi yang memadai, karena regulasi terkait perundungan dunia maya dan akibat hukumnya belum diatur secara jelas dalam undang-undang informasi dan transaksi elektronik maupun undang-undang perlindungan anak.
